Self Discipline Requires Commitment and Perseverance In Your Goal Setting

How is Your Self Discipline?

Self discipline is really nothing more than getting yourself to accomplish your specific goal oriented tasks-regardless of your emotional state.

It is really exercising your will power in doing the things that you know you need to, should do, and must do regardless of your personal emotional state of being.

The trick is how to do the things you know you have to do, that you should and must do without giving in and submitting to your procrastination tendencies.

But... do not feel like doing….hmm..there-in lies the key.

I don’t want to insult your intelligence in that you already know what discipline, will power , and self-control is.

The key is, you need to somehow know how to harness the power of self discipline, and apply it in your smart goals setting pursuits.

If you want to know the secret in life in how to succeed , what personal character development qualities, or characteristics do they exhibit?

What makes these very successful people stand out and radiate when compared with 97.00% of the world’s not successful population that will end their objective pursuits in dismal failures? I would argue that it is not necessarily their education or environment that makes them successful.

People graduate by the thousands yearly here in the US and around the world for that matter at varying economic levels and access to education. Education is not necessarily the key factor-it helps in achieving your college planning goals.

6 Fundamental Characteristic Traits Required for Self Discipline in Your Personal Development

ATTITUDE:

Your positive attitude along with a positive thinking mindset, plays a significant part in your self discipline.

How are you currently doing in yourself discipline in your personal life or in professional career goals and your business goals pursuits? What about your health and fitness goals ?

Only you can answer that question honestly. You get up in the morning and you know you should walk or run for 15-30 minutes, but you decide you would rather sleep in. Then you repeat the same behavior the next day and the next day, and before you realize it, you are no longer exercising like you should do.

What separates the winners from the losers is not education, or intellect, or money or fame, it is doing the things required for you to succeed in life. Only you know what those things are, but it begins with your attitude and willingness to continue the race.

COMMITMENT:

Along with attitude is commitment which is just as important. How committed are you in yourself discipline and for what reasons? You have to have a purpose first-then you follow-through with your commitment in doing what you have to do.

If you have a big exam coming up which requires your time each and every night to study or you’ll fail the test and ruin your opportunity for the big job promotion because you didn’t pass the exam, do you wait until the night before the test to study?

If you do-then you are really not committed enough to follow through in taking the test, studying daily and nightly in preparing for the test like you should. Before you begin any task that requires your commitment, you need to ask yourself how committed are you in carrying out a task that you don’t want to do but know you should do. And more importantly, where is your self motivation?

If you’re not committed enough regardless-then you shouldn’t do it period because you’ll just be wasting yours and other peoples’ time.

FAITH:

You have got to develop the hope and faith in God and yourself in your self discipline. Life is tough and hard enough by itself. You need to have an advocate for you, a helper, someone you can call on 24/7 that hears and listens to you, and knows your struggles that you face in your personal and professional life. Have the faith to believe in God in seeking His help in helping you in your daily/weekly self discipline goals to have the perseverance not to give up or to quit.

MOTIVATION:

You have to have a certain level of motivation to keep you on track in your self discipline or you will eventually stop. From my experience in providing goal setting for people, I have come to realize that everyone is different in this area. Everyone has different motivation tactics to use to keep themselves moving towards their own goals.

What works for one person in trying to lose weight for example in your weight loss goals may not necessarily work for you. One example-motivation could be that new dress you want to buy or that new bikini bathing suit you want to purchase after losing the 20 pounds you want to drop.

The important thing is to use smart goals in your goal setting approach, and to begin slowly and gradually you can make your goals more challenging as you see results from your self discipline.

Seeing results you can measure will make you more motivated whether you are setting real estate goals for yourself, starting your own work at home business or just trying to improve your health by losing weight.

FOCUS:

You need to focus on your goals. If you’re determined for example to open up your own new work at home business within the year, you need to prioritize what you need to do before that can happen.

Focus and prioritize on what you can begin working on now-in helping you realize your goals 12 months down the line. Plan your work and Work you plan…

PERSEVERANCE:

Lastly-is perseverance. Only those who persevere and have the determination to succeed will. Did you know that? What is the difference between Failure and Success-PERSEVERANCE.

The world is full of quitters and failures.

It was too hard, it took too long etc. The world is full of peoples empty excuses...

You weren’t smart enough, or pretty enough, or gifted with the proper education, or you lived in a bad or poor neighborhood.

Borrowing from an old cliché: Losers never Win, and Winners never Quit..

Only you can answer yourself honestly what is holding you back in life in fulfilling your destiny in life that God has planned for you. Will you rise to the top knowing you have given it your all 110% in life-or did you quit giving up on yourself and your dreams because it was too hard….

PERSEVERANCE Holds the Key to SUCCESS... Think about It...

It's your Attitude not your Aptitude that determines your Altitude in your life.....

Remember: "The only Unfulfilled Goals in Your Life are the Ones you Never Attempt"
