Conquering Your Fear, and Intimidation Through Faith

is endemic to all facets of human society, and has affected everyone of us as human beings at some point during our lives from time immortal. Fear is such a natural human emotion, that there are literally thousands of
conquering fear
resources both on-line and off-line that you can choose from in your personal development growth. The fear of death or dying is the number one emotion that most people rank the highest- followed by failure for most people which prevents many from
succeeding in life
This site is not about defining what fear is; you already know what fear is.. instead what I hope you want to discover for yourself, is how to harness your fearful nature, and to move and grow from your cautious, intimidated state of being, to a renewed you that is confident, self-assured and ready to meet your fears head-on with your renewed confidence.
FEAR FUELS FAILURE....
Fear is probably the single biggest reason why the majority of people will never achieve their goals and dreams. Either you are not using
SMART goals
in your goal setting strategy, or your fears so control your emotional state-that you are completely frozen and paralyzed to take any action whatsoever in moving your dreams and goals forward. When you think of the word FEAR think of the FOUR F's: FAITH-FORGIVE-FORGET-FOCUS.
Think about the different letters that spell the word FEAR
FAITH
:
This is the biggest factor in why you will fail in your goals and dreams for yourself and will be paralyzed by your fear. You have to have the faith in God and yourself to believe that you will overcome your fears so you can be the person that God intends for you can have the faith and belief to accomplish your goals and dreams.
FORGIVE
:
Another factor is being able to ask for forgiveness to God for things that have not gone well for you in your life as planned, and to be able to forgive yourself and others that may be holding you back in your ability to conquer the fear in your life.
Forgiveness is such a powerful force that can completely FREE you from you fear and release you from the bondage you are in. You see, fear is really paying homage to the bondage that controls you and paralyzes you from taking action. Forgiveness that is genuine and heartfelt frees you from this bondage.
FORGET:
Another strong factor is not being able to forget your failures in the past and past fears that have controlled your life and have limited your aspirations up to this time. You must be able to forget the past so as not to dwell on the past failures and fears of your life. Your life is about the present and he now-not in the past.
FOCUS:
Another important element is to focus on what you need to do, and act upon in pursuing your goals and dreams-not being limited about your past failures and fears in life. Yesterday is a cancelled check-it’s history; tomorrow is a promissory note (tomorrow is not promised-it’s God’s will or not) and today is just cold cash-all you and I have for the moment is the NOW in our lives-that’s all.
EMBRACE the Present
10 percent of what happens to you in life-happens-90% is how you react to what happens to you.
ACCEPT Change
You need to accept the fact that there will be things, circumstances and events in our lives that will happen that you will have no control over. You need to trust and have the faith in God to see you through to your destiny. This is called growth.
We all go through this at times. How can you and I ever grow if you are never tested in our lives?
REFLECT and Respond
This is self explanatory but applies to circumstances and events in our personal development, goal setting process. When you are tested outside your comfort zone when your tendency is fear and flight-trust God to give you the wisdom and discernment to teach you.
5 Steps to Overcome Your Fearful Emotions
1)Face You Fear Head On. I don’t want to sound too cliché here, but stating what former US President JFK stated: ”The only thing to fear is fear itself”, how are you to ever grow and develop personally and professionally in your personal development by running away from your fears?
Many people are afraid and wary of public speaking, and are overcome with
anxiety
and fly into a
panic attack
at the very thought of public speaking. Maybe this is you. My challenge and advise to you-is to face the very thing or (things) that cause you the most fear in your life and resolve to take at least one step to improve in this area of your life.
If you’ve always done something a certain way, but continue to get the same results, guess what? Your plan or system isn’t working… and you need to try something differently, a new approach.
2 Persist...Keep on keeping On..
How many times have you tried and failed in your life? Lost count? If you’re like most people in society-you and everyone else (myself included) have failed countless times in our lives in doing the same thing. But guess what… eventually you got it right and you succeeded in that one mall element of your life. Why?because…..
You didn’t give up, you kept trying something differently. I remember in high school it took me six times before I passed drivers education and I finallyreceived my driving learner’s permit. Was I embarrassed? Sure I was….but did I quit…no I didn’t it..
I kept at it-even joking with the drivers instructors who thought I would never pass-but I did. It took Thomas Edison over 14,000 times before he perfected the light-bulb- that everyone is familiar with today in our lives. Think about this next time you want to give up and quit...remember Persistence holds the key to Success…
3 Realize that failure is an every day part of life
Don’t misunderstand what I’m saying here. Everyone of us fails every day in life in some regard. None of us are perfect. Everyone of us are different and learn and process information differently. Like the old adage: if at first you don’t succeed…..try try again….holds true.
You, and I and the rest of the humanity will fail us every day in some aspects of life, you have to have the determination that your failure is just a minor setback in the bigger picture of your life, and to resolve to overcome this area in your life that you need to improve.
4 Try a Different Approach
May times when you fail, it’s the system or the methodology that you need to change or refine in helping you get where you want to go. For example if you’re always working on projects late at night when you are tried and ready to go to bed, maybe by focusing on those projects during the morning and afternoon hours when you are more naturally awake and alert–might yield a more positive result.
5 Pray and Ask for God’s Help
You may laugh at this but I totally believe in God Himself and the Power of Prayer.
How to Meditate
is key in learning how to overcome anything that you may be going through. After All, if God is all Knowing and Powerful surely He can help you if you seek Him. I honestly believe without God in your life, and faith-youfirstinvolving the God of all. KNOW FAITH-NO FEAR Think about these words...
Get a
bible
, read it and study it to apply God's teaching in your life. How do you ever expect to overcome your fears and intimidation in your life, unless you involve God in your life? Having the faith and hope knowing that you can talk to God 24/7 is very comforting knowing that God is in control and that you can do and accomplish all things through Christ Himself; Phillipians 4:13.
Don’t worry for you atheists and agnostics..this is not a sermon on theology and prayer. Although I am a Christian and believe in the Lord Jesus Christ for my spiritual salvation, the Power of Prayer is very much viable in your fearful state, regardless of the degree of fear that you are experiencing; whether you are wary and suffer indecision in your life at work or at home. The Power of Prayer cannot be overstated, and me just what you need right now in helping you overcome the fear in your life.
