Fitness Goals and Weight Loss Goals For Optimal Cardio Fitness

What are your fitness goals weight loss goals , and aerobic exercise goals? American’s are heading towards an early grave and the rest of the developed world are close behind due to sedentary lifestyles and lack of physical exercise and fitness goals. According to American Sports Data.com between 1962 and the year 2000, the number of obese Americans grew from 13% to an alarming 31% of the population.

-- 63% of Americans are overweight with a Body Mass Index (BMI) in excess of 25.0.

-- 31% are obese with a BMI in excess of 30.0.

-- Childhood obesity in the United States has more than tripled in the past two decades.

-- According to the U.S. Surgeon General report obesity is responsible for 300,000 deaths every year.

The question is what are you going to do about your fitness plans and exercise in general? Do you have a fitness plan or agenda in developing and seeing through your fitness goals?

Which Fitness Program is Right for You?

Having a Masters Degree in Health Education, I spent many of my earlier post graduate career years developing, assessing and monitoring health education programs both domestically here in the US as well as overseas.

One observation that I noticed very early on in my career, is that everyone-probably yourself included, is looking for the quick fix to successful weight loss and fitness goals. Let me personally pop that bubble for you because there is no such thing as a magic pill or a special potion to fitness and weight loss.

You have to have the self motivation and discipline in your daily nutrition health and diet plan along with adequate exercise , which includes aerobic exercise if you want to successfully lose weight.

If you’re self motivated to monitor your own exercise regimen-fine, all the power to you, however if you’re like most people who need to be motivated which is probably 90% of US society, than there are many excellent

health clubs and fitness programs, including various membership and gyms that you can join.

There are also personal trainers , who can provide for you the added value in personal fitness attention and weight loss on a one on one basis which can prove invaluable to you in your weight loss and fitness goals for life.

One such health club that I can personally recommend is Global Health & Fitness . GHS provides provides you with a certified on-line personal trainer . GHS is currently running a special of $59.00 US which includes 12 weeks of personal training fitness instruction including body mass index (BMI)and nutritional guidance assessment. If you’re on the go, this may be just the type of one on one personal training that you are looking for in your fitness and weight loss goals.

As with any weight loss and fitness program, you should first discuss with your medical health care provider and agree upon a specific program that is tailored for your unique weight-loss and fitness goal needs.

If you’re looking for specific health and fitness books, one such organization that I can recommend is Human Kinetics . Human Kinetics provides renowned health related information covering such topics as adult health for seniors, cardio fitness , health and fitness for childern, and professional sports athletes. They have many excellent health related fitness and nutritional books, and CDs including strength training (just to name a few...) that you may purchase directly.
