Maybe you too can identify, after all, who hasn’t told a white lie or too. But regardless of the little white lie , lying is lying and is not trust. It doesn’t matter if your less than honest intentions are 99% closer to the truth or not. If you’re not 100% honest in everything, then you are a lier, a fraud, and a phony. Tips For Being Honest And Trustworthy Being Honest Requires Faith and Commitment About me , as a Christian believer in the Lord Jesus Christ as my personal Savior and Lord in my life, I personally believe that apart from God in your life, you are set up for many, many failures in your life, the most important of which is your final eternal destination upon your death. Death and dying are very real, make sure you end up on the right team God’s team before you die. Also, if you ever want to know the age old secret in life how to succeed and, how to be happy in life, put God first in your life… Cry out to God and ask Him to help you in becoming more honest and trustworthy. It doesn’t matter if you don’t know quite know how to meditate and to pray to Him, God hears your prayers and knows your heart. But He can’t help you unless you take the first step in being proactive by calling out to Him first. Develop the hope and faith that only God is able to provide in helping you become more trustworthy and honest in your own life. Being Honest And Trustworthy Requires Self Discipline
Just like any new learned skill, becoming completely honest and trustworthy over night does not happen like the flip of a switch. It has taken you years and years of repeated lying deceitful behavior to get where you are now, and it will take you time to undue, to unlearn unhealthy behaviors which only damage your credibility, your integrity, your self esteem , and undermines your character development. You see being honest and trustworthy requires doing the right thing, not what is politically, personally, or professionally expedient. Being honest and transparent in all things from your business communication at work, to your communication with your spouse in your happy marriage requires transparency and openness. Remember, trust is never a given but instead must be earned first. Furthermore, if you are not being honest in your job, it will only be a matter of time before you are terminated and you will soon be looking for your next job interview. Honesty & Trustworthiness Requires Accountability At the end of the day, you are only accountable to yourself, to God, your employer, and to your family. We live in a global culture that shuns truthfulness and accountability, because everyone is out save their own skin, their own egos, their own jobs and long term career goals at everyone elses’ expense. I challenge you from this day forward, to be completely transparent and honest in all aspects of your personal and professional life, not only to yourself, but to God above. Because being honest and trustworthy reflects your values and who you are as a person. In an era when it is so easy to spin a conversation or an event any which way that puts you or your motives into a much more favorable light, it is compforting knowing that there are some people who will not compromise their integrity for expedience. Some people will rise up every time in being honest, trustworthy, and forthright because ones' integrity, dignity , personal character, and conviction matter more than personal gain. How about you? And once your character is called into question, you cease to be viewed with any credibility what so ever. After all, true leadership development is doing and saying what is factual and honest over expedience and convenience.
