It is a Buffet-R-13 a professional wood clarinet with silver keys that I purchased in 2003 online that I still play.
This clarinet is pure musical playing joy that is probably the best clarinet you can buy. I got my first clarinet when I was in school-a used hard rubber model, but I was never any good compared to the other students. And.... band practice in general was always a chore for me since I did not have very good clarinet playing music skills.
The first musical instrument I started out playing music on was the violin. But I ended up playing clarinet, which I thoroughly enjoy playing. But it has taken me a long time, and many years of practice for me to like how I sound, and more importantly to be able to play with a music group or music band in harmony. This is where real practice comes into play. But you've got to develop the self discipline , using sound time management tips , in setting time each day to practice. It wasn’t until after I got out of the US. Navy about me , did I get back into playing music again. A friend of mine and I try to get together for a jam session at least once a month to play show tunes, big band and jazz themes which are my favorites. We both played in our church praise band together and try to do some community events for the retired community when out busy schedules permit.
Ok, you’ve decided on playing music, this is good but how do you decide upon which musical instrument in taking music lessons? If you’re a student in school, why not communicate directly with someone in your school’s music department, the school music teacher or band director? Most school’s have a school music band , and a concert band. You just need the self motivation in wanting to play. Express your interest in playing a musical instrument and ask to try out several different instruments first to see which instrument you feel the most comfortable in playing. All instruments are different with differing tones and playing styles. Only by trying and practicing playing on a few, will you be able to select and choose which musical instrument is right for you. If you have a friend who is playing music, ask him or her to see if you could hold their instrument and try it out. Maybe you could even try playing the musical instrument with your friend present. Whether you play in an organized school music band or concert band, or just wish to play a musical instrument in your church praise band or community brand, playing music is soothing to the soul on so many different levels.
