2nd Timothy 1:7 For God did not give us a spirit of timidity, but a spirit of power, of love and of self-discipline
Shyness and how to overcome shyness is a normal human emotion that has affected most human beings at some point during their lives. Maybe you too suffer from shyness or know someone who does.
And for most people , shyness, being shy, and introverted is something that most people grow out of during their formative development years.
However for some people, being shy and an introvert is unfortunately a way of life that has really negatively affected many people from growing and reaching their full God given potential.
About me , I too was shy growing up, I had no dates-no girlfriends, and only a few close friends from my playing football days in high school.
I can remember all too well, the fear I would experience in meeting new people, in public gatherings; my shyness would almost render me immobile because I felt I could not function in a normal way. I was actually given the shyness award as being the most shy kid in my senior class-talking about an award!
However, I grew out of my shyness when I joined the United States Navy immediately after high-school, and I believe the indoctrination of military life was my new reality and priority at that time of my life, and eventually my fear of shyness was removed.
Overcoming Shyness Requires Faith...
I am a Christian believer in the Lord Jesus Christ and my hope and faith has more than sustained me countless times that I can remember. After all, all we really have is our faith the ability to cling and hope for something that you don’t know how it will all turn out-but you trust in God in helping you through to the other side. 2nd Timothy 1:7 says, For God did not give us a spirit of timidity, but a spirit of power, of love and of self-discipline This is verse that I hold dear to my heart.
If everything else you’ve tried in your life has not worked for you to overcome shyness, I challenge you to consider the trusting faith in God-that only He can provide. Ask Him how to meditate in asking God to help you grow through your shyness and being an introvert. Shyness like any other human emotion can be controlled and conquered, but it does take self discipline , self motivation , and positive thinking, coupled with prayer on your part.
