About me , I have been metal detecting since 1995, and I know from first-hand experience, how invaluable a treasure map can be.
Whether you are a relic hunter like myself, or you are gold prospecting in your treasure hunting pursuits, a treasure map or historical treasure maps , can be an invaluable tool, as you seek to discover treasure that is buried in the ground, in creeks and rivers, or under the oceans.
My attempt here is not to list every single treasure map resource avaialble.
But instead to provide reliable treasure map resources that I have personally used when metal detecting and relic hunting myself, that have more than proved their weight in gold.
The list of reliable treasure maps, and state maps is exhaustive, my job is to point you in the right direction based upon my expereince in using these resources.
State and County Maps
I have frequently used historical maps, state maps, and county maps for my metal detecting needs. There any may online vendors who sell these state maps, but you can also obtain most of these maps, virtually free of charge at your local county or state library.
You will have to see the head librarian, but most of these historical maps are kept in the reference section. Place historical maps copies under a 8 X 11 clear photo-copy plastic, then placing a modern map over the over lay state maps, you are then able to see possible areas that you need to explore and check out to search.
My buddies and I frequently use these historical maps, and state maps when we are metal detecting. There are so many excellent online sources now available that provide civil war maps and treasure maps for all of your metal detecting requirements.
Civil war Maps Resources
Depending upon the treasure you are seeking, whether you are gold prospecting for gold and silver, or seeking historical artifacts such as civil war bullets, buttons, and belt buckles/plates , civil war maps are an excellent tool, that you can use in your treasure hunting pursuits.
Again, most of these civil war maps are readily available online, but you can also check in with your reference librarian at your local county or state library where you live. Develop the self discipline for researching all available treasure maps resources.
As more and more treasure hunting and metal detecting sites slowly become unavailable due to construction and development, these civil war maps can open up new opportunities for your metal detecting needs, as long as you have the creative visualization to see the potential that these civil war maps have to offer.
Utilizing Online Forums For Obtaining A Treasure Map Or Civil war Maps
Unfortunately, many civil war relic hunting sites, and other treasuring hunting sites become few and far between due to the progress called development.
Because of this fact, you will need to look at other sources of invaluable information that is avaiallbe to you via online forums.
Some of the more notable forums that I participate in and can highly recommend to you in locating and finding treasure are the following websites:
All of these excellent forums provide invaluable resource information, from possible locations to locate treasure, to recently discovered civil war maps or a treasure map, where some sea-going pirate from the early 1600s stashed his loot.
